A Carl Zeiss Case Study
whr Hossinger Kunststofftechnik, a manufacturer of CPAP generators for premature babies, faced a challenge in ensuring the airtight precision of its complex, miniature components. Their existing optical measuring equipment struggled with the tight tolerances and difficult part geometries, making quality inspection a protracted and costly process. To address this, they turned to vendor Carl Zeiss and implemented the ZEISS O-INSPECT multi-sensor measuring machine.
The solution from Carl Zeiss combined tactile, optical, and white light sensors in a single machine with a large measuring volume. This implementation allowed whr Hossinger to drastically reduce the number of measurements they had to outsource. The results were a doubling of measurement precision compared to their previous machine and a significant reduction in measuring time, providing their metrology team with greater efficiency and room to breathe.
