KRAMSKI speeds initial sample inspection for up to 500 characteristics with Carl Zeiss

The customer, KRAMSKI, a manufacturer of stamped and hybrid parts, faced the challenge of accelerating the quality assurance process for initial sample testing. With up to 500 characteristics requiring inspection on each complex workpiece and the need to quickly bring multi-million euro production systems online, their previous measuring methods were too slow. They turned to vendor Carl Zeiss for a solution involving the ZEISS O-INSPECT multisensor measuring machine.

Carl Zeiss implemented the O-INSPECT multisensor machine, which allows for both contact and optical measurements on a single device. The key benefit was the ability to create measuring programs offline using ZEISS CALYPSO software, which prevented the machine from being blocked during programming and allowed programs to be written before a physical workpiece was available. This solution saved KRAMSKI valuable time, enabling faster feedback for tool corrections and a quicker startup of series production. The ability to easily generate serial sampling programs from a master prototype program provided an additional time savings that other machines could not offer.
