Case Study: Ingpuls GmbH achieves precise quality assurance for stent wires with Carl Zeiss ZEISS EVO SEM

A Carl Zeiss Case Study

Preview of the Ingpuls GmbH Case Study

Ingpuls boosts 75-micron stent wire quality with Carl Zeiss EVO across 10,000 m weekly inspections

The customer, Ingpuls GmbH, produces ultra-thin Nitinol wires for medical stents, a process involving over 100 complex manufacturing steps. Their challenge was ensuring the highest quality and reliability by detecting microscopic flaws and impurities that could compromise the wire's performance, requiring precise material analysis and surface inspection. To meet this challenge, they turned to vendor Carl Zeiss and its ZEISS EVO scanning electron microscope (SEM).

The solution from Carl Zeiss was the ZEISS EVO SEM, which provided ultra-high resolution magnification and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) for detailed material analysis. This allowed Ingpuls to optimize its manufacturing process, perform weekly quality checks on over 10,000 meters of wire, and reliably identify critical imperfections like microcracks. The results were enhanced product quality, faster failure analysis, and strengthened customer confidence, making the ZEISS EVO an indispensable tool for their precision manufacturing.
