The University of Utrecht's Biomolecular Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics group needed to archive very large amounts of raw research data on a limited budget. Caringo implemented its Swarm Object Storage software on Dell servers. This solution integrated with the university's Active Directory and used metadata for future projects, while its built-in disaster recovery replicated data to a remote site. The results included a decreased cost of storage infrastructure, reduced administrative overhead, and twice the file access speed, all while providing an expansion-ready archive.
