Caringo Cloud Architecture Helps Dutch Real Estate Association Provide Reliable, Scalable and Cost-effective Rich Media Storage

The Dutch Association of Real Estate Agents (NVM) was challenged by the scalability, reliability, and cost of their legacy IP-SAN storage for the Tiara real estate media database. After a policy change required them to keep all historical images, their available disk space diminished rapidly, and they experienced significant downtime. NVM tasked partner Mirabeau to find a new storage solution capable of handling their existing 25 million images and a daily influx of 30,000 new files, leading them to evaluate the Caringo Object Storage Platform.

Caringo's solution involved using Swarm object storage to host all current and historical files. Mirabeau developed the Fleuron interface layer to manage media processing, which stores data on a highly available two-cluster Swarm system with automated replication handled by Caringo Content Router. This provided NVM with a cost-effective, unified storage system that is easily scalable. The result was a highly reliable service that supports high-resolution images and enables new business opportunities for NVM as a central database for the real estate industry.
