Rhenus Connects to CargoSmart to Improve Shipment Management Processes and Increase Visibility

Rhenus Logistics, the Asia-Pacific regional headquarters of Rhenus Group, needed a better way to centralize shipment management across multiple ocean carriers. Using its Paradigm FM2000 freight management system, the company could only connect to a limited number of carriers and had to visit individual carrier websites to submit shipping instructions and check cargo status, creating extra work and reducing efficiency. CargoSmart helped address this challenge by supporting broader carrier connectivity through the existing FMS.

CargoSmart integrated with Rhenus Logistics’ freight management system via EDI, enabling shipment instructions and cargo tracking for six additional carriers directly within the platform. As a result, Rhenus improved shipment management automation, increased supply chain visibility, and streamlined operations, saving 25 days per year managing multiple-carrier shipments.
