Dressing Up Lulu’s Outdated Accounting System

Lulu’s, a Chico, California apparel retailer founded in 1996, grew quickly after moving online in 2006 and then brought in a private equity partner in July 2014. That created an urgent need to recast its 2014 accounting records from cash basis to accrual basis and replace QuickBooks with a system that could be implemented in four to six weeks, so the company turned to Cargas.

Cargas implemented Intacct Cloud Business Accounting Software in six weeks, meeting Lulu’s deadline. The new system let Lulu’s meet financial reporting requirements, improve data accuracy, eliminate piles of paperwork, and bring online payments, vendor information, and financial reporting into one central place. Lulu’s also gained the ability to create and track an annual budget and generate daily cash flow reports for closer monitoring of performance.
