Mad Science, founded 30 years ago by brothers Ariel and Ron Shlien, is a leading children’s science enrichment franchise with more than 150 locations in 28 countries. When a franchise group needed to hire part-time instructors for after-school programs they faced a disjointed, costly hiring process: non‑targeted job descriptions, multiple application steps across platforms, poor applicant quality, and no passive recruiting or talent pipeline.
CareerPlug created standardized, keyword-optimized job templates, syndication to 80+ job boards (including Indeed), and built custom prescreen questions, automated scoring, and candidate assessments benchmarked to current staff. The streamlined workflow increased both applicant volume and quality, saved hiring time, produced better hiring decisions, and allowed surplus qualified candidates to be funneled into a talent pipeline; the solution has since been expanded to additional Mad Science groups nationwide.
