The Missouri Department of Mental Health, a multi-facility state agency operating seven psychiatric facilities and employing about 4,500 staff, needed to replace manual scheduling and timekeeping processes with a more efficient, centralized system. Care Systems provided its CareWare suite, including CareStaffer for scheduling and CareTime for time and attendance, to help streamline operations across all facilities.

Care Systems implemented automated scheduling, payroll support, and the DMH-13 electronic exception form, while also integrating CareWare with Missouri’s SAM II HR/payroll system. The solution eliminated paper-based workflows, reduced paycheck errors, lowered absenteeism, and gave managers better access to historical punch data, reporting, and optimized staffing; after a successful launch in 2014, the state awarded a 3-year extension for CareWare.
