Wayne-Westland Community School District faced a significant challenge in managing the post-COVID surge in requests for mental health services. With limited resources, the district struggled to help families navigate the complex process of connecting students to community-based care providers. To address this, they partnered with Care Solace and its service to provide support.

Care Solace implemented its Care Companion team to handle the time-consuming work of connecting individuals to mental health care. The results were substantial; over a six-month period, Care Solace saved the district an estimated 16,000 communications and connected 40% of users to an appointment, a significant increase over the average self-navigation rate. The service also effectively supported community members with Medicaid, no insurance, and those from the BIPOC community.
