Population Council backs up health data with Carbonite Endpoint Protection

Population Council is a nonprofit research organization with 500+ staff conducting health and development studies in more than 50 countries. With geographically dispersed IT and many researchers working in remote, low‑connectivity locations, the Council needed a reliable, low‑bandwidth endpoint backup solution to protect laptops and other devices and allow local IT staff to manage their offices’ devices.

The organization deployed Carbonite Endpoint Protection with Microsoft Azure storage to provide automatic, centrally managed, policy‑driven backups that work in challenging network conditions. The global IT team now sets group and individual policies via a web portal while local teams can administer their devices, and staff can quickly restore individual files and folders on demand.
