A Carbonite Case Study
MVP Sports Clubs is a 1,200-employee health and fitness network with 11 branches in Florida and Michigan serving 46,000 members. As the business grew, its small IT team needed a stronger disaster recovery plan for critical systems—SQL databases, web servers, biometric check-ins and their domain controller—because their previous approach (relying on a backup generator in Orlando) left them vulnerable to extended outages from events like hurricanes.
MVP expanded their existing Carbonite relationship by adopting Carbonite Recover, a cloud/hybrid DRaaS that replicates local backups (including a NAS) to multiple data centers and provides 24/7 support with less maintenance than an in-house secondary site. The team can fail over to Carbonite’s cloud quickly—tested recoveries indicate critical servers can be restored in about 30 minutes—while avoiding additional hardware, staffing overhead and cross-vendor security risks.
