DC Living Real Estate, a Washington, D.C. property management and sales firm run by co-owners Skip and Debbie Singleton with 13 agents, was overwhelmed by a decade of paper-based transactions—typical deals produced about 80 pages—and stored thousands of files in their basement. The team avoided on-site backups out of concern that agents might forget to copy files, leaving them vulnerable to loss from floods, weather damage and time-consuming manual searches.

After adopting Carbonite in December 2010, DC Living scanned recent files and shifted agents to sending PDFs, using Carbonite’s automatic, remote backup to protect data and simplify workflows.
