The American Hockey League (AHL), a professional hockey organization founded in 1936 with a 15‑person team, needed to protect hard‑to‑recreate data — licensing records, contracts, contact lists and a 1,000‑plus game schedule — stored on staff laptops from hardware failure, human error and cyberthreats.
