A Carbon Case Study
Nakanishi Dental Laboratory, Inc., a family-owned full‑service dental lab in Bellevue, Washington, was struggling to scale its manufacturing as demand grew: an earlier 3D printer lacked the accuracy needed, production capacity was maxed out and portions of model work had to be outsourced. After evaluating options, Nakanishi adopted Carbon’s solution, including Carbon M Series printers and Carbon’s Digital Light Synthesis™ platform, to support a move from traditional milling toward a digital workflow.
Carbon supplied reliable hardware, responsive service (including next‑morning on‑site support) and a materials portfolio that enabled more in‑house digital production. With a second Carbon M Series added, Nakanishi now runs both printers more than 100 hours per week, achieving a 54% increase in monthly print volume, 23% quarter‑over‑quarter growth and a 60% reduction in hands‑on labor/costs for denture and nightguard production, while bringing model and guide production back in‑house using Carbon‑exclusive materials like DPR 10, Lucitone digital dentures and KeySplint Soft.
