Fizik’s One-to-One Creates Custom Saddles for Riders Using Carbon Technology

The customer, Fizik, sought to create a truly bespoke bicycle saddle that could address the unique comfort and performance needs of individual riders, moving beyond the limitations of generic, one-size-fits-all designs. To accomplish this, they partnered with the vendor, Carbon, leveraging Carbon’s additive manufacturing technology and materials to develop their innovative One-to-One custom saddle program.

The solution implemented by Carbon involved a multi-step process where Fizik, using a specialized pressure sensor system, captured dynamic rider data. Carbon's Custom Production Software and Design Engine then automatically translated this pressure map data into parameters for a unique 3D-printed elastomeric lattice saddle topper, tailored to each cyclist. This automated design and manufacturing process from Carbon allowed Fizik to efficiently produce one-off custom saddles at scale, providing riders with unparalleled improvements in comfort and performance validated by final pressure map comparisons.
