Creating Engine Envy with Evans Motorsport Performance

Evans Motorsport Performance (EMP), a custom performance parts maker for Mustangs and Corvettes, needed an attractive, heat-resistant strut tower cover for the Chevrolet Corvette C8 but found the complex geometry and ~200°F under-hood conditions made CNC machining and typical prototyping materials impractical. EMP turned to Carbon (via production partner Fast Radius) and evaluated options before selecting the Carbon DLS™ process and EPX 82 material to meet the part’s aesthetic, thermal, and finish requirements.

Using Carbon DLS and EPX 82 through Fast Radius, EMP moved from prototype to production quickly and affordably: Fast Radius printed and shipped the entire run in five days, Carbon’s process delivered identical parts consistently, and EMP saved thousands of dollars per part versus CNC machining. The covers are now selling through EMP’s US and global channels, and Carbon’s on-demand capabilities (Virtual Warehouse) let EMP manage inventory and continue exploring additional parts.
