Carbon and Lamborghini Expand Partnership to Digitally Manufacture Parts

Automobili Lamborghini partnered with Carbon to overcome the challenge of producing high‑quality, production‑ready components for the Sián FKP 37 while shortening development cycles and avoiding costly tooling. Using Carbon’s Digital Manufacturing Platform and Digital Light Synthesis (DLS) technology, Lamborghini sought a way to digitally manufacture complex interior parts—specifically the central and lateral dashboard air vents—while meeting its exacting standards for performance and finish.

Carbon applied its DLS process and EPX 82 material to rapidly iterate designs and move from concept to production, eliminating traditional tooling steps. The result: Lamborghini cut lead time by 12 weeks, showed a final part on a show car in three weeks and entered production within three months; EPX 82 passed Interiors Flammability, VOC, Thermal Cycling and Heat Aging tests, while the Carbon platform simplified the supply chain and accelerated time‑to‑market.
