Scope3, a company focused on decarbonizing the digital advertising industry, faced the challenge that digital ads generate significant emissions, with one million ad impressions equating to roughly one metric ton of CO2. They needed a partner to help integrate high-quality carbon compensation into their offerings. They selected Carbon Direct to provide a bespoke portfolio of carbon removal credits for their Green Media Products (GMPs).
The solution from Carbon Direct was a diversified, high-quality portfolio of nature-based and hybrid carbon credits. This integration allowed Scope3 to automatically compensate for emissions from advertising campaigns. As a result, Scope3 made a $1 million advance purchase of carbon credits and, as of January 2023, had compensated for over 600 metric tons of CO2 through its partnership with Carbon Direct.
