MediaCityUK launches The BeatBox in 30 creative boxes with Carbon Creative

The customer, MediaCityUK, faced a challenge during the pandemic: how to enable social distancing for its waterside restaurants and bars while also fulfilling a pre-pandemic goal of bringing public art to its plaza. Carbon Creative was invited to participate in a design competition to create a unique, artistically dressed outdoor dining pod as a solution, employing their brand and campaign services.

Carbon Creative's winning solution was "The BeatBox," a dining pod designed as a vinyl record flight case to celebrate Greater Manchester's influential music scene. The exterior and interior were crafted with durable, cost-effective materials to create an immersive experiential design. The result was a successful and meaningful public art installation that provided a safe, private dining experience and paid tribute to the local cultural history.
