Coincheck Prioritizes Threats with Carbon Black

Coincheck, a Tokyo-based cryptocurrency services provider, faced major endpoint-security challenges after a 2018 leakage: legacy AV/EDR products produced misdetections, consumed terminal CPU resources, and increased operational labor. To secure its cloud-based environment and about 200 Mac iOS endpoints, Coincheck evaluated several vendors and selected Carbon Black’s next‑generation AV and EDR solution, CB Defense.

Carbon Black deployed CB Defense across Coincheck’s Mac endpoints, giving the security team consolidated visibility, richer logs and API integration that eliminated prior false positives and sped up investigations. The CB Defense rollout to 200 endpoints ran without operational burden, cut down research time, improved threat prioritization, and helped restore engineer productivity.
