Lafayette College, a 2,400‑student liberal arts institution in Pennsylvania, needed a modern, secure and open collaboration platform that supported mobile sync, calendaring and easy integration with existing systems. To meet those needs the college selected Zimbra Collaboration from Carahsoft for its open‑source architecture, security and privacy features and device synchronization capabilities.

Carahsoft implemented Zimbra Collaboration with mobile sync, calendaring and Zimlets (hover calendar previews, click‑to‑call, video conferencing, task management) and ensured compatibility with Outlook, Mac Mail, Android and iOS. The deployment delivered a modern webmail interface, significantly better reliability during peak usage, enhanced calendaring and greater student‑faculty contact time — improving collaboration and the overall student‑teacher experience.
