Eastman needed a redundant, multi‑modal, site‑wide alerting system for its Kingsport, TN campus to rapidly notify 6,500 employees and 3,000 contractors across 900 acres and 550 buildings. The company required support for legacy devices, bi‑directional acknowledgements for personnel accountability, targeted messaging for incidents (medical calls, chemical spills, severe weather, active shooters), on‑premise data storage and a scalable platform. Eastman selected Carahsoft to deploy AtHoc Connect to meet these objectives.
Carahsoft implemented a phased AtHoc Connect rollout branded as “Eastman Alert,” integrating new and legacy endpoints (computer pop‑ups, phones/SMS, email, SharePoint, pagers and two‑way radios) with an on‑premise/private‑cloud architecture for high availability and PII protection. The solution now delivers real‑time, targeted alerts to the full Kingsport population (6,500 employees and 3,000 contractors), provides two‑way acknowledgement for improved accountability and situational awareness, reduces operational downtime risk through redundancy, and scales to support future growth.
