Acton Mobile, a multi-regional provider of modular rental space with more than 10,000 units and 38 service centers, faced capacity limits and performance problems with its aging terminal‑services and Windows desktop environment. The legacy setup caused poor user experience, frequent maintenance overhead and difficulty scaling to support rapid growth, so Acton engaged Carahsoft to deploy a virtual desktop solution using vBOX and Zero Clients.

Carahsoft implemented the vBOX VDI appliances and Zero Clients to deliver a responsive, centrally managed virtual desktop environment that scales by adding appliances. The solution improved user experience to feel like dedicated desktops, reduced desktop outages and TCO, enabled rapid plug‑and‑play deployment (minutes to set up, seconds to boot), and supported Acton’s expansion plans — including opening 15 new offices and onboarding more than 150 employees — while increasing end‑user productivity and simplifying IT management.
