Capsule Technologies worked with a Foundation Trust in a large UK metropolitan area that faced a rapid COVID-19 surge and urgent ICU expansion. The Trust needed to scale monitoring across many beds while minimizing clinician exposure and reducing manual charting to maintain high-quality care under strained staffing and space constraints.

Capsule deployed Axon clinical computing hubs in ICUs, surgical theatres and recovery areas to capture data from multiple devices and integrate it with the electronic patient record and analytics. This allowed the Trust to expand monitored ICU beds from 100 to over 200, move to continuous monitoring without increasing staffing, streamline bedside workflows, speed ICU turnover, improve clinician confidence in discharges, and gain device-utilisation insights that support cost savings and longer-term digitization.
