Yakutcement - Customer Case Study

Yakutcement, a cement and crushed stone manufacturer in Mohsogollokh Village, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Russia, needed a more reliable and affordable power source in the face of extreme subzero weather, frequent blackouts, and an unreliable local grid. To solve this, the company turned to Capstone Green Energy and its microturbine-based combined heat and power (CHP) technology.

Capstone Green Energy implemented two Capstone C1000 Power Packages with heat recovery units, providing Yakutcement with onsite electricity and thermal energy. The system supplies 2MW of high-quality electricity, 3,400kW of thermal power, and nearly 90% overall efficiency, while meeting 100% of the boiler equipment’s power needs. The project reduced maintenance and energy costs, improved reliability for the plant and village heating supply, and is expected to deliver a return on investment in just three years.
