Waterside Hotel & Leisure Club - Customer Case Study

Waterside Hotel & Leisure Club, an independently run hospitality property in Didsbury, Manchester, wanted to cut operating costs by finding a cleaner way to supply electricity, heat, and hot water for its rooms, pool, and leisure facilities. Vendor Capstone Green Energy, working through its U.K. dealer Pure World Energy (PWE), proposed a combined heat and power (CHP) solution built around a C65 ICHP microturbine.

Capstone Green Energy’s C65 ICHP microturbine was installed in a compact external plant compound and now supplies about 40% of the hotel’s electricity and 65% of its heating needs, while also providing back-up power. The system generates roughly 215,000 kWh of electricity and 520,000 kWh of heat annually, cuts energy costs, and reduces carbon emissions by more than 115 metric tons per year, equivalent to taking 25 cars off the road.
