A Capstone Green Energy Case Study
Walker Corporation, owner of the Collins Square precinct in Docklands, Victoria, needed to improve competitiveness in a crowded commercial real estate market by cutting the site’s carbon footprint and energy use. To meet those sustainability goals and attract environmentally conscious tenants, they partnered with Capstone Green Energy through distributor Optimal Group Australia.
Capstone Green Energy implemented a precinct-wide cogeneration and trigeneration solution using C200, C600, C65 microturbines, absorption chillers, a C1000 control system, PLC remote monitoring, and a factory protection plan. The system provides electricity, heating, and cooling with low-noise, gas-fueled generation, helping each tower reach a 5-star NABERS rating, with one exceeding 6 stars; the installation is expected to reduce emissions by 65% versus utility electricity while also lowering energy costs.
