VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System - Customer Case Study

VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System, a healthcare campus in Ann Arbor, Michigan, needed a way to improve energy efficiency, reduce utility costs, lower its carbon footprint, and maintain reliable backup power for critical operations. To address these goals, the facility worked with Capstone Green Energy, using a Capstone C1000 Microturbine CHP system.

Capstone Green Energy implemented a natural gas-fueled combined heat and power solution that supplies both electricity and steam to the 1.1-million-square-foot medical center while operating in parallel with the utility grid. The system also supports resiliency during outages and has helped the hospital save approximately $370,000 per year, or about $31,000 per month, while delivering ultra-low emissions and reliable on-site generation.
