The Ritz-Carlton - Customer Case Study

The Ritz-Carlton San Francisco, part of The Ritz-Carlton, wanted to reduce energy consumption and costs while maintaining the comfort and luxury expected by guests. To support its sustainability goals, it turned to Capstone Green Energy for a cleaner, more efficient combined cooling, heating, and power solution.

Capstone Green Energy implemented a UTC Power Company PureComfort CCHP system using four Capstone C60 Microturbines, an absorption chiller, and supporting controls. The system now provides 240 kW of electricity and 120 RT of cooling at about 80% efficiency, reduces hotel power consumption by 20%, saves an estimated $120,000 annually, and cuts CO2 emissions by 40%—about 800 tons per year.
