A Capstone Green Energy Case Study
Sport Centre De Scheg, a major public sports facility in Deventer, Netherlands, needed a more reliable and efficient energy solution after its aging reciprocating generator became prone to failure, required heavy maintenance, and drove up costs. The centre, which uses large amounts of electricity and natural gas to run its ice-skating track, pools, and technical systems, turned to Capstone Green Energy for a cleaner, lower-maintenance alternative.
Capstone Green Energy installed a Capstone C200 MicroTurbine CHP system with a gas compressor, heat exchanger, and industrial ventilator. The solution provides reliable onsite power, ultra-low emissions, and useful heat for the swimming pool, delivering about 85% overall efficiency and helping the centre reduce energy costs while keeping operations running smoothly during outages.
