Slutsk Cheese Factory - Customer Case Study

Slutsk Cheese Factory, a large state-owned dairy manufacturer in Belarus, needed a more efficient and reliable way to power its expanding production operations. Its existing heat supply came from a nearby plant and suffered from significant transmission losses, while the heat quality did not fully meet the factory’s cheese-making requirements. Capstone Green Energy worked with the customer on a combined heat and power (CHP) upgrade using Capstone microturbines.

Capstone Green Energy installed four Capstone C1000 natural gas-fired microturbines in a CHP system that produces 4 MW of electricity and 4.8 MW of thermal energy for process steam and space heating. The solution now covers 100% of the factory’s heat and electricity needs, cuts energy costs by an estimated 50%, and is expected to pay back in four years.
