A Capstone Green Energy Case Study
Simpkins Family Swim Center, a public recreation facility in Santa Cruz, California, needed a reliable way to control energy costs while maintaining comfortable water temperatures in its pools despite the area’s cool coastal climate. The center also wanted to support the city’s environmental stewardship goals by conserving energy and minimizing fuel use. Capstone Green Energy provided the microturbine-based solution.
Capstone Green Energy installed two Capstone C60 ICHP systems with integrated heat exchangers to supply efficient power and useful heat for the center’s 50-meter pool and warm water wading pool. The system helps keep pool temperatures steady while reducing power costs and using one of the world’s cleanest-burning technologies, delivering both operational savings and environmental benefits.
