Shanghai Aerospace Energy in Shanghai, China, needed an efficient way to provide combined heat and power for its facility. Working with Capstone Green Energy, the customer deployed a Capstone C30 microturbine-based CHP system, including an absorption chiller to support cooling needs.

Capstone Green Energy installed a C30 microturbine that generates electricity and heating while its near zero-emission exhaust drives the absorption chiller to create air conditioning from heat instead of electricity. The solution improved energy efficiency and provided clean onsite cooling, with the system also helping supplement power at nearby Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
