Recla Manufacturing Plant, a long-established gourmet meat producer in Silandro, Italy, wanted to expand production but faced a major challenge: the remote South Tyrol location had limited, expensive electricity and frequent utility blackouts. To support its manufacturing growth, Recla turned to Capstone Green Energy and its C1000 Power Package.

Capstone Green Energy installed a natural gas C1000 Power Package in a combined heat and power (CHP) configuration, along with a saturated steam generator and heat recovery module. The system delivers 1 MW of electricity and 1,430 kW of thermal power, eliminates blackout-related downtime, recovers more than 80% of the primary energy source, and saves Recla about €300,000 per year, while also cutting around 1,000 tonnes of CO2 annually.
