Ramon Station Giant Company - Customer Case Study

Ramon Station Giant Company operates an oil pipeline booster station in New Mexico, located between Roswell and Vaughn at 5,300 feet elevation. With the financial impact of any equipment downtime being extremely high, the company needed a highly reliable primary power solution for the site. Capstone Green Energy, through its distributor Pumps and Service, supplied the power system.

Capstone Green Energy installed 15 stand-alone 65kW microturbines, fueled by propane and controlled by Capstone’s Advanced Power Server, to provide primary power for three 200-horsepower pumps. The system supports pumping up to 55,500 barrels of oil per day, delivering the power reliability the site required and helping ensure uninterrupted pipeline operations.
