Quellenhof Sport and Wellness Resort - Customer Case Study

Quellenhof Sport and Wellness Resort in St. Martin in Passeier, Italy is a luxury hospitality property with 150 rooms and extensive wellness facilities that required a more efficient, reliable, and environmentally friendly energy supply. To reduce dependence on utility power and traditional boilers while supporting its sustainability goals, the resort turned to Capstone Green Energy for a cleaner on-site power solution.

Capstone Green Energy installed two Capstone C65 ICHP microturbines with Heat Recovery Modules in a combined heat and power system fueled by natural gas. The system generates 125 kW of electricity and 224 kW of thermal energy for pools and wellness areas, delivers about 1 million kWh of electricity and 1.8 million kWh of heat annually, and exceeds 80% energy efficiency. Results include an annual CO2 reduction of 800 tons, nearly 50% of the hotel’s power needs met onsite, estimated yearly savings of €75,000, and a payback period of less than three years.
