A Capstone Green Energy Case Study
Machland Fruit and Vegetable Delicacies GmbH, a food manufacturer in Naarn, Austria, faced an aging production plant, very high energy costs, and frequent grid failures that threatened production continuity. Capstone Green Energy provided a secure and efficient energy solution using a C200 MicroTurbine in a combined cooling, heat, and power (CCHP) application.
Capstone Green Energy installed the C200 microturbine along with an absorption chiller, heat exchanger, and steam boiler to generate electricity, reuse waste heat, and support steam production. The system reduced reliance on unstable grid power and achieved overall efficiencies of 90% to 96%, while also helping Machland process more than 17,000 tons of raw fruits and vegetables annually and complete production during outages.
