Lotte New York Palace Hotel - Customer Case Study

Lotte New York Palace Hotel, a major midtown Manhattan hospitality property with 813 guest rooms and 86 suites, wanted to cut operating costs and reduce dependence on New York City steam, especially during colder months. To address this challenge, it worked with Capstone Green Energy and distributor RSP Systems to develop a cleaner on-site power generation solution using Capstone C65 ICHP dual-mode microturbines.

Capstone Green Energy implemented a combined cooling, heat and power (CCHP) system with 12 C65 microturbines, integrated hot water heat exchangers, and a 200-ton absorption chiller. The system provides up to 780 kW of electricity and recovered thermal energy for heating or cooling, reducing the hotel’s carbon footprint by 481 tons per year and cutting annual electric and thermal energy expenses by an estimated 30-40%.
