Leading Global Electronics Manufacturer Company, a global provider of engineering, manufacturing, aftermarket, and supply chain services, wanted to lower operating costs at its plant in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico. To reduce energy spending and support its sustainability goals, the company partnered with Capstone Green Energy and its dealer DTC Ecoenergía to explore onsite power and cooling options.

Capstone Green Energy installed a C1000S Signature Series microturbine with a World Energy absorption chiller in a combined cooling, heat and power system. The solution now supplies about 63% of the plant’s electricity and 64% of its billable demand, cut CFE energy use to less than 37% of prior levels, reduced CO2 emissions from 520 kg/MW to 280 kg/MW annually, and is projected to deliver a three-year ROI while also improving reliability and backup power capability.
