Corralco Mountain & Ski Resort Hotel, a 60-room luxury hotel in southern Chile’s Malalcahuello Nalcas Natural Reserve, needed a reliable way to power its remote, off-grid property without disturbing the surrounding ecosystem. Because the site was isolated from the utility grid and far from the nearest city, the resort turned to Capstone Green Energy for a clean, quiet onsite energy solution.

Capstone Green Energy installed four 65 kW Capstone microturbines in an integrated combined heat and power (ICHP) application with a Capstone Logic Controller, running on LPG. The system now provides the hotel’s electricity plus thermal energy for heating and hot water, with about 80% overall operating efficiency, ultra-low NOx emissions, and low noise—helping the resort reduce its environmental footprint while supporting stable, fully self-sufficient operation.
