Brackley Leisure Centre - Customer Case Study

Brackley Leisure Centre, operated by Parkwood Leisure, expanded into a major health and recreation facility in Northamptonshire and needed a more efficient way to meet the higher power and heat demands of its new pool, gym, studio, and café. To address rising energy costs and carbon emissions, the centre partnered with Capstone Green Energy and energy service company Pure World Energy to plan an on-site combined heat and power solution.

Capstone Green Energy supplied two C65 microturbines as part of a 130 kWe CHP system that delivered power and heat across the site, including 60% of the centre’s electricity needs. The system generates 642,000 kWh of electricity and 1,108,000 kWh of heat annually, while helping reduce energy costs by an estimated 7-12% with zero capital investment and cutting carbon emissions by 26 metric tons per year.
