Stonegate Mortgage Corporation, a leading publicly traded mortgage lender, needed a better way to manage residential loan documents because its old imaging system was slow, hard to scale, and relied on costly, error-prone manual indexing. Stonegate turned to Capsilon and its DocVelocity document imaging platform to support faster growth and improve the loan origination process.

Capsilon implemented a cloud-based imaging solution branded by Stonegate as SMC Imaging, adding automated document recognition, secure collaboration through Threads, and stronger audit and retention capabilities. With Capsilon, Stonegate more than doubled loan volume in the first year while minimizing staffing increases, cut 10 to 15 minutes from each new loan and about five minutes from additional reviews, and saved roughly an hour per underwriter per day, while also improving service and simplifying compliance.
