Department of General Services modernizes 30-year-old systems with Capitol Tech Solutions

The Department of General Services (DGS) was challenged by an outdated 30-year-old system for tracking statewide property inventory. Capitol Tech Solutions was engaged to lead a complete, ground-up rebuild using the .NET stack and modernize their operations.

Capitol Tech Solutions implemented a cloud-based solution on Microsoft Azure, utilizing services like Azure SQL, Azure Functions, and a Svelte front end. The project automated previously manual processes, such as data handling in Excel and sending notices, streamlining workflows. While the project was still in progress at the time of writing, a key result was the development of a reusable framework for future state applications.
