A Capgemini Case Study
ZIVIT, the IT service center for the German Ministry of Finance, faced the challenge of rapidly enhancing the software used for EU-wide VAT reimbursements to meet a strict new EU deadline. They needed to automate and optimize complex international processes while improving system ergonomics and required a partner to support this critical software enhancement for the German Federal Central Tax Office (BZSt).
Capgemini partnered with ZIVIT to evaluate, optimize, and enhance the VAT reimbursement system's architecture and performance. Working as an integrated team using the V-Model XT methodology, they implemented the new requirements through five iterative releases. The result was a state-of-the-art system that automated processes, improved data exchange with other EU states, and enabled prompt reimbursements. The success was highlighted by Capgemini achieving a perfect 5.0 OTACE customer satisfaction score from ZIVIT for two consecutive years.
