Case Study: ZF Friedrichshafen achieves a global RPA service in one year with Capgemini Invent

A Capgemini Case Study

Preview of the ZF Friedrichshafen Case Study

ZF Friedrichshafen establishes a global RPA service in a single year

ZF Friedrichshafen, a global automotive technology company, wanted to establish a worldwide automation service and nearshore RPA center of excellence as part of its IT realignment. Working with Capgemini Invent, it set out to use robotic process automation to reduce manual work, improve process outcomes, and support employee satisfaction across its 148,000-person workforce.

Capgemini Invent helped ZF Friedrichshafen define the RPA platform and operating model, covering processes, governance, technology, people/change, and roles/responsibilities. The team launched with 9 use cases and grew the pipeline to more than 70, with 15 live cases used to continuously refine the model. Within one year, ZF Friedrichshafen had established a global RPA service and built the capabilities needed to scale automation further.
