Case Study: Windesheim achieves a next-generation student experience with Capgemini and Sogeti

A Capgemini Case Study

Preview of the Windesheim Case Study

Windesheim - Customer Case Study

Windesheim University, a large Dutch university of applied sciences, faced the challenge of a rigid, labor-intensive IT estate that could not support its goals for flexible, student-focused education. To modernize services and gain a competitive edge, they partnered with Capgemini subsidiary Sogeti to overhaul their infrastructure and enable secure, remote access to applications and resources from any device.

The solution from Sogeti involved consolidating the IT estate using VMware virtualization and building a new collaboration portal based on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, Exchange, and System Center. This allowed for centralized management and remote access to all applications. The results for Windesheim included a significantly reduced physical server footprint, a 30% improvement in costs on a like-for-like basis, and the ability to deploy new applications in half the time, with the savings reinvested into further innovation.
