Volkswagen Group helps establish Germany’s Mobility Data Space

The Volkswagen Group, including its brand Audi, faced the challenge of adopting new processes to launch data-based use cases for Germany's new Mobility Data Space within a restricted timeframe. They needed to shift from being a pure manufacturer to a data-driven mobility provider and break down data silos to enable innovative services. To tackle this, they partnered with vendor Capgemini, specifically its Capgemini Invent service.

Capgemini Invent provided project management and collaboration support to coordinate the Volkswagen Group's engagement with the Mobility Data Space ecosystem. They developed and delivered the first use cases, including a Local Hazard Information service that aggregates vehicle sensor data to warn of road hazards. This successful implementation provided the basis for collaboration within the Volkswagen Group and demonstrated the data space's potential for making roads safer, leading to its successful go-live.
