A Capgemini Case Study
The Valencia Health Agency, serving nearly 5.2 million people, faced a challenge in standardizing and unifying the economic and logistics management across its 24 Health Departments. As part of a wider systems revamp, the agency needed an integrated solution to replace outdated processes like hard copy orders and to enable better calculation of management indicators. Vendor Capgemini was engaged to implement a solution to address these needs.
Capgemini implemented the Oracle eBusiness Suite (OeBS) as the centralized Orión Logis application. This solution standardized processes, centralized data, and integrated with other systems using BPEL and SOA standards. The results included the elimination of hard copy correspondence, real-time logistics monitoring, and reduced incidents from stockouts. The measurable scale of the implementation includes 2,000 users managing 80,000 stocked items across 700 warehouses, processing 1,800 daily order lines and 13,000 daily consumption movements.
