A Capgemini Case Study
The customer, UniCredit Tiriac Bank (the newly merged entity of HVB Romania and BCIT), faced the challenge of a complex legal, organizational, and technical merger that needed to be completed within a tight 10-month schedule. To meet this ambitious goal, they partnered with vendor Capgemini, leveraging their transformation consulting and post-merger integration services to spearhead the project.
The solution implemented by Capgemini involved a transparent project structure and continuous change management to ensure quick decisions and stability. They successfully integrated the two banks into a single entity with one IT system, converting hundreds of thousands of client accounts and training over 1,500 employees. As a result of this collaboration, the newly formed bank saw its profit surge immediately and key performance indicators improve considerably. The project was completed on time, and Capgemini and the bank were jointly awarded The Banker's 2007 Technology Award for the best back-office project of the year.
